Weekend, Already?

This week went by fast! I've gotten a lot read and done at work, but my house looks like there are more than two adults and one dog living here. I cleaned the toilet before I went to work today, because who wants to come home to an icky toilet? I'm a huge fan of the 2000 flushes product that inhibits mold growth. We don't have central air like y'all do; we do run a little fan in there if we are making steam, but (sigh) the mold tries to grow anyway.

Todd is on his way to see his mother. I already miss him. Just while he is away, the no-dogs-on-the-bed rule is suspended. Kuyper will also miss his hero.

I was talking with a friend today about husbands who are holes. You know, you just have to give and give and give and the hole is never filled up? I'm so grateful that mine works while I am working-- I'll ask him to sit and take a rest, but he believes that it is his job to serve me! He may not see the things I think need to be done, but he asks me. If it doesn't get to that point, I ask him if he would mind doing X.

I'm careful to elucidate a time limit, because I learned from experience that some men (naming no names) think housework should be an all day affair, and can't imagine much more drudgery than that. While I've been having my back trouble, it's been, "would you spend three minutes spraying the shower walls with this (either bleach or lavender water, depending on the mold growth in the grout) and then take your shower in there and rinse it all off?" Somehow, the results are better than "would you clean the grout in the shower?"

I wish I knew a way to convey to him how much he has blessed me.

And I couldn't think of a good gift to send with him to his mom and dad. I was going to make cookies, but it was soooo hot and humid in our house, and the air conditioner takes forever to catch up. I found t-shirts with old watercolors of Brooklyn on them. I hope they are a success. It's hard to choose a gift for someone you love but really know through someone else.

I'm really rocking through the assignments I have for this rotation. I'll finish some more, then dinner with new friends that we met at the couples retreat. They're both architects. Seems like I'm always surrounded by some!

Love you guys! Have a good weekend! I have a great picture to post, when I'm at my home computer...
